💕 Tutorial - miniature dog basket for your dollhouse

miniature dog basket
Some days ago, I got a very cute miniature crochet dog from my mom.

I so love that cute little dog. That's why I
thought, he definitely needs a place to sleep.

I decided to use wool and weave the basket,
what turned out really nicely.

I made a  step-by-step tutorial for you, how to make these little pet baskets.

If you have any questions to that, please let me know!

Currently I am working on some garden accessories for my mousehouse, as soon as I have finished some, I'll upload them as well.

Overview - my current projects and what's comming up next

To give you an overview what I am working on, I will show you my current projects

Every day is different, and I love crafting, but working for ages on one project drives me crazy :)
So I have three current projects I am working on. But the mousehouse is my favourite one at the moment.

my medieval tavern project

This is my medieval tavern - Its made of cardboard, wooden sticks and paper. I already have the cellar part done and going to make another floor that will include a bar and a sleeping place.

So you will find on my blog ideas and tutorials for the floorings, walls, stairs and the interior soon.

my tree trunk fairy style project

This is my tree trunk project that I started a year ago. Still not finished :)
There I want to create a nice fairy style with lots of flowers, animals made of polymerclay and such things. If you want to have tutorials for that, this will take a while, I guess I will finish my tavern and moushouse first.

dollhouse renovation into mousehouse
Now this is what I am doing at the moment. I got an old dollhouse from the 50s that somebody wanted to throw away. I didn't like the shape so much but I thought I could renovate it in a way, that it could look lovely again.
I love that little mice and you'll see lots of pics from the building site (hehe) and maybe some stories what the mice are up to :) . I will do everything on my own. The walls, the garden, the furnitures etc.
I hope you'll enjoy all the updates and tutorials and I really hope I can give you some new ideas for your crafting projects.

And when I don't feel like working on the projects, I love modelling with polymerclay and have always tiny little projects besides the big ones... and I will share them with you as well of course. :) You will find this projects in the gallery above soon!

Thanks for being here with me and see you in my next posts ðŸ’•

💕 Tutorial How to create stone walls by using cardboard and acrylic paint

miniature stone wall out of cardboard

How to make a stone wall out of cardboard and acrylic paint for your medieval projects

This is a nice and easy way to create a wall that looks like stone just by using some acrylic paint. I made this, because I am working on a old medieval tavern. You can also use this technique to make the exterior walls of your house look old and dirty.  NOTE: choose the cardboard in a thickness that will be suitable to paint on, so that you have an even wall at the end (I recommend at least 5mm)

If you wannt to know how I made the wooden parts - please follow my blog, I am going to make a tutorial for that as well.

Let's start! 💕

How to paint cardboard to create a stone wall

1. Measure a piece of cardboard in the size you want to have it and glue one layer kitchen roll on it (I recommend wood glue). Use a brush to make it uneven like shown

2. When you are happy with the texture you created let it dry and paint it with opaque white.

3. Take ocher acrylic paint and speckle it irregularly on it.
Next to no. 3 you have a sample
picture how it should look.

4. Now mix ocher with some
black and add it in the same way
like in no. 3. Don't add much water to the acrylic paint in this step.

6. Now mix opaque white with
a little amount of water and
speckle it on the parts that are too dark in your opinion.

7. Continue by using your finger,
to get a nice texture.

8. Mix black with some water. Add a little amount of black on your finger and speckle it on the parts you want to have very dirty or old looking.

If you are not happy with the result, just add more white/black/ocher in the technique we just
used, till your wall looks realistic.

If you have any questions to that, please let me know!
A tutorial "how to paint wood in a way that it looks old and shabby" will come up soon!

💕 Tutorial Miniature Sewing Accessories

Miniature Sewing Accessories

I made cute little sewing accessories for one of my dollhouse projects

For the actual work plate I just used some cardboard. You can build it in any size or layout you want to have. It depends on, how many  items you want to have in it.
To start building it, just make a sketch of each piece - to connect them, use glue.

Tutorial Miniature sewing work plateTo hide the edges (where everybody would see that you used cardboard) cut out some egg carton in the height of your cardboard and glue it in place. - I used acrylic paint to give it a nice, friendly look.

Now just start taking some more
cardboard and paper - cut out the size
you want to have, wrap some yarn
around it and just be creative :)

For the boxes I used some miniature printables, just google it, you will find plenty of free pattern and designs.

Tutorial Miniature pincushionThe pins are easy to make.
I just took some colored pearls
and some wire and glued the pearls on
top of the wires.

Because it's for my mousehouse, I wanted
the pincushion in a cheese-shape.
For that I cut out some styrofoam and
colored it with acrylic paint.

Then just put the pins onto it.

💕 Tutorial - furniture knob

Your miniature furnitures will look so much nicer, if you start adding little details.
Here is an easy way how you can make your own little furniture knobs. By using acrylic paint later on you can make them look more neat.

What you need:

○ toothpick
○ x-acto knife
○ glue

Tutorial miniature furniture knob

1. measure the size you require
   (I recommend 2mm) and make
   a slight cut

2. work along the cut you made
be careful - cut not too deep,
    otherwise it will fall off

3. do the same on the end part

4. model the endpiece of the
knob by cutting out thin parts.

5. it should look like this now

6. use some sandpaper or a
    file to smooth the edges
    till it looks neat

7. remove the remaining
    toothpick and glue it in
    place

How to use polymerclay for your crafting projects - Tutorial gingerbread house for dollhouses

polymerclay craftings

When I started doing miniatures, my first project was scale 1:24 - and I
had no idea, where to get such tiny food for my mouse-kitchen from.

So I bought a pack of polymer clay and just started modelling. It was not
so easy at the beginning, but after a while it started working out.

I am working on my mouse-house project at the moment, for that I will also
craft my own food and things I'll need for the kitchen and bathroom.
I will upload them on here as well to give you some ideas, how to start.

Modelling is not difficult.... just give it a try :)

To get a first impression, what you can do with polymer clay and how easy it is to build whatever you wanna craft, here is my tutorial for a lovely little gingerbread-house for christmas. It's a picture-tutorial in easy steps.
